Why Do Some People Deny Themselves and Lash Out on Others Around Them Especially Loved Ones?

Question by Beak: Why do some people deny themselves and lash out on others around them especially loved ones?
One of my relative is always degrading his parents and often times verbally abuses his siblings and his closest family talking really disrespectful

Lots of times he goes out at night and comes home late morning.. and starts cussing at his mom

He can be nice sometimes but generally i noticed he has extremely short temper and blows up easily and yells at whatever pisses him off

Also when you ask him why he gets angry, he says that he didn’t do anything wrong and never got angry..
Why do you think someone would be this way??? are these just really unhappy and miserable people?

Mind you this is behavior from a grown adult..is he in denial and miserable,…?

He is maybe depressed. OR he might not be happy about his life and the people he has to spend his life with. He might be disappointed in himself.
