Can an American tell me how they feel?
Can an American Policeman on here explain why they feel they have the right to do these thing? Here in Holland we are appalled by the behavior of American Police abusing citizens.
It would not be acceptable in Europe, as we have highly skilled, and educated Policeman which know how to handle situations properly. For example we won’t chase someone in a car (or on foot) and risk causing an accident just because someone had harmless marijuana or some small amount of drug.
Basically, I wonder if the American people and American Police Officers realize that the WHOLE WORLD is laughing at them for the way they treat their people. The USA I think is the worst Police State in the world and on top of everything you people have the audacity to call the USA “The Land of the Free”. What a joke that is. 1 out of 99 Americans IS IN JAIL….that’s more than one percent!!!…How can you call that the land of the free???

**Also, sorry if my English is poor, as it is not my first language.**

this is because of a series of situations that have happened over the years in the US.
One is privatization of jails. There are private companies that make millions of dollars by housing prisoners. To protect their incomes they buy politicians and support any initiative that means more people go to prison and stay in prison.
Two is our police officers just aren’t that smart. It’s common in many parts of the US to test police applicants for personality and IQ. If their IQ is considered too high they aren’t hired. The thinking behind that is high IQ cops will become bored or question authority and eventually quit and will have to be replaced.
Three is a sense of entitlement held in law enforcement. They will drag their religious beliefs and personal opinions into their work. If they believe their God would hate you then they feel justified in hating you too since Gods laws trump mans laws.
