My Boyfriend Introduced Me to Meth. 2nd Guessing His Love for Me.?

Question by On The Floor: My boyfriend introduced me to meth. 2nd guessing his love for me.?
I’ve been struggling with my weight on and off for several years now. A year ago I met my boyfriend. We became really close about 6 months ago and started dating each other exclusively. He got to know me well and find out that it is hard for me to lose weight.

One day he told me he could help me lose weight quick but that he wasn’t sure if he should tell me how. I wondered if it was drugs. It was. He told me that with meth I would lose weight fast and easy because I would not have cravings.

With last night I’ve inhaled it a total of 11 different days with each day being 3-4 small inhalations. I am not proud of what I’ve done and I’m very sorry for ever trying it. I tried it because I was weak and because I thought this would finally be my chance to have a slim figure.

Right now I’m realizing that nothing is worth risking my life for. My chest hurts a lot and when I breathe it hurts more. It’s the 2nd time I have chest pain. I’m afraid for my life. If I go to the hospital I will have to say what I did and this will stay in my record for ever. I think I won’t go. I’ll be off of work in 3 hours and plan to go to bed. Maybe all I need is rest. The last time that this happened the pain went away on its own after I rested.

Besides knowing that I did a completely stupid and ignorant thing I want to revisit the relationship that I have with my boyfriend. Let’s go back to the time when I hadn’t done this ok. He proved himself to be a good man. He would take care of me very well and always look out for me.

I believe he loves me but I also believe that someone who loves you will never put you in danger intentionally. Could he indeed love me but may be ignorant? He’s not very well informed about this drug. I’ve been doing a lot of research on it and with everything I’ve read and experienced I do not want to do this again. I want to live a healthy and happy life. I have dreams and goals that I want to accomplish. My father has history of alcohol and tobacco abuse so I believe this can put me at a higher risk to have an addiction.

I told him I don’t want him to do it anymore. He says it’s only bad if you do it every day or all the time. I know it’s bad if you do it even just once. But he said I was right and he would stop too.

I realize I do not want to take it to the next level with him. I knew this way before this issue. I guess the reason I’m here is to get your opinions if you believe he does love me but made a mistake.

I also want to advice any person who may ever think of doing drugs or is currently doing them, to stay away from them. Life is too precious to throw away.

Please advise.
