Question by Ingrid Vallot: how long after a felony conviction do i have to wait to become a chemical dependency counselor?
i am currently finishing my supervision i have 8 months left on federal probabtion. i want to go back to school and i am having a hard time figuring out what to go for. i dont want to waste time going to school and then not be able to get a job in that field. i know from experience from being in treatment facilities that counselors have been convicted felons so i am looking into that profession. knowing i will be able to become employable eventually. but how long? does anyone know?

It depends on which state you are in. And you really, really need to talk to a lawyer about this.
