Support Recovery of a Husband Who Is a Heroin Addict?

Question by mama never said it would be easy: support recovery of a husband who is a heroin addict?
we had a long talk on thursday night about the things that must happen in our marriage in order for it to healthy. he has been battling this for a good 7 years and he says that he is tired of chasing the drugs and the constant lies. he called up his old probation officer (who has been clean for almost 30 years now) and asked for his support and guidance.

they have been going to meeting for 4 days sometimes 2 a day. i understand the whole cycle and the odds, i am jut proud of him for taking the steps to get better and want ideas to better support him.

every time i look at him i tell him how proud i am and i do everything to make it possible for him to get to the meetings. my whole family has had addiction problems so we stay away. i would love to do something special to celebrate anniversaries. wednesday will be a week clean and i want to show him how proud i am and encourage him as much as possible. the relief of total honesty is a breath of fresh air.
