Does Everyone Respond to Suboxone Treatment?

Question by Julia: Does everyone respond to suboxone treatment?
I was an opiate addict & in the middle of march I went to an outpatient suboxone center.. I absolutely hated the taste & would also puke everytime I did my dose. It would take the withdrawl away but my urge to use is still there. About two weeks ago I went from 2mg to nothing. I feel no withdraw but my brain is going nuts for opiates. I’m curious if anyone know someone who the suboxone just didn’t work.. Thank you in advance.

Wow,you weren’t on it for long.I too was an opiate addict(18+yrs) & 2 yrs ago i went into treatment & was put on suboxone.I was one it for a year and a half & then my doctor dismissed me as a patient because i lived to far away from him was his reason. So i thought well ok i had been off the opiates for 19 months i figured i would do ok.Wrong! I also started craving opiates so,so bad that yup,i relapsed big time.So i found a different doctor and he put me back on in nov 09 and i haven’t taken any opiates since. This time around though,i have been going to n\a meetings and i tell you those really help.Being a opiate addict is something that we are going to have to live with for the rest of our lives. We are always going to wish for them because we know how good they can make us feel.I also hate the taste of suboxone but it sure beats going through withdrawals,or being hooked on pills so bad not having anymore and going out trying to find some. The doctor i now see is really good.He understands so much better then the 1st dr who put me on suboxone.I do go and see him once every month and i also do a drug test.So maybe you need to try & find a doctor who can/will put you on a treatment maintenance program where you will be on the suboxone until you are ready to come off it.If that isn’t the way you want to go,then i would say to find a n\a group or even a aa group to go to and quick! Because if you are already craving for opiates you know it’s only going to be a matter time & you will end up relapsing.Good luck to you.
