Question by : How do i deal with inlaws that i HATE?
My husbands family has always mistreated me. I used to wonder why they never called my husband out on his abusive tentencies towards me but after years of getting to know them i realized they are just as bad as he is if not worse! They are very cruel to me, they talk badly behind my back, they act nice to my face but treat me like garbage behind my back and text me cursing me out for no good reason. All his family does drugs or has done drugs at some point. I hate how they dont care about my son. My husband doesnt know this but the hate i have for his family is making me fall out of love with my husband… I dont know if i can deal with this my whole life, his family is just trash. How do i deal with this

Maci, FACT…most abusers come from homes of abuse. I’ve lived with EVERY type of abuse there is. They also came from homes of abuse & were abused themselves. FACT…IF they are or were drug users, they have the “sickness” of addiction. People with addictions are NOT “normal” people. I also am a 20+ yr. sober alcoholic, my ex husband also IS an alcoholic who still drinks 25 yrs. later!!! You are NOT dealing or living among “normal” people from your husband back to his family. THIS IS the reason for your total unhappiness. Only a Professional who deals in anger management can hope to be of help to ALL of them. They ARE totally “sick” people who are NOT going to hope to change without help. You could go to some Alanon mtgs. to learn more about them & what makes them as they are, It certainly wouldn’t hurt you to go to a few mtgs. I went to both, often say AA saved my life, Alanon saved ny sanity. Find out where the closest mtgs. are to go & go to few. I dare say it WILL be of help to you. You’re going to have to decide IF you can take all you’re living with. It IS one very rough road, I too well know. When I finally accepted I could take no more, I felt like a ton of bricks rolled off my shoulders. I was finally FREE of it ALL. Honey, IF you come to that point in your life, you too will be forced to come to a decision. You MUST do what’s BEST for YOU & for your sake. I’ve walked in your shoes, know too well ALL you’re dealing with…I SO Do wish you ALL the best…:)
