So my cousin Brittney has always been a screw up. She always lies, breaks the law, does all kinds of nasty things but yet i still love her unconditionally. She has a really bad eating disorder, so bad now that she’s throwing up blood, I mean she’s just really sick in her head. She’s 5’4 and weighs about 90 pounds…She’s ALSO does crystal meth and refuses to admit that she has a problem with it. To make things worse, Brittney’s mom (my aunt) passed away in a terrible accident less than a month ago. Brittney doesnt have a dad. My uncle left her when she was a baby so all she had was her momma, and now brittney has reached rock bottom. She dropped out of high school a while back, and she’s running around with meth using, white trash dirt bags and everytime me and my grandma try to help her she freaks out and acts like we’re the one with the problems because she doesnt think she’s doing anything worng!. She is going to die. She’s dying slowly and the thing is she doesnt understand. She wont accept that her life is so worthless now, and that she needs to change. What can i do to help? Please dont tell me to just “talk” to her… I’ve tried thousands and thousands of “talking sessions” and “intervemtions” with her. IT DOESNT WORK!!! She has a mind set that nothing is wrong with her She’s 18 so i cant book her into a rehab center without her consent and she wont go. Also please dont tell me “she needs to want help” because YES i know that… trust me i know but the thing is SHE DOESNT WANT HELP! She wont get help until she dies. I promise you that and she is almost there and i refuse to let her die like this. Not under my watch!! I’ll do anything! If i could put her in prison for a couple years to get herself straight and risk her hating me I WOULD DO IT! I’ll do ANYTHING ANYTHING! Please helppp!

I think that you are going to have to let her go and find her own way. Try to make sure that you don’t get caught up in the drugs and other bad activities. Make sure you finish school, etc. You can’t control her, and its not your job to control her. Help her if she asks, but don’t let her bring you down.
