Can Drug Abuse in the Past Cause Hallucinations in the Future, Even When the Drug Abuse Has Stopped?

Question by Victoria: Can drug abuse in the past cause hallucinations in the future, even when the drug abuse has stopped?
I have heard stories from some friends who have abused acid before as young teenagers, but have stopped. Now, 5-6 years later, they experience hallucination episodes once in awhile. Out of nowhere, they would see bubbles, or water, or just thinks that are not there anymore…. this happens to them maybe.. once or twice a month? I was wondering if it goes away after awhile? even though they’re no longer abusing themselves with these drugs? Also, My brother used to be on drugs heavy, then all of a sudden (almost a few years afte he stopped) he LITERALLY… lost his mind….. he hallucinates like CRAZY… it so bad that he has to be on medication.. and if he doesnt take the medication, or stops then he will hallucinate like crazy again… any reason as to why? his condition happened out of nowhere, hes been just find as a child, teenager and such. he never had any psychological problems until he started to take drugs (acid, coke, etc) and abuse his body.. then 2-3 years after he stopped, BAM! He’s mentally unstabled???

yes it can have a lasting effect. lsd attaches itself to your spine…sometimes it’ll mess w/your brain chemistry and you won’t be the same ever again. be careful what you put into your body…or atleast know what you’re doing before hand.
