If there was no chance of addiction or overdose or any other problems arising from the use of the recreational drug.

No.

Because anything that is not already common is unwanted. While logic works in favor of legalization (because the government can institute a juicy tax on it), it probably wouldn’t be legalized because it’s not legal now.
