Is There Legal Opposition to Legalization of All DEA Sch.1 Agents to Be Prescribed at the Discretion of MD…?

Question by Crouching Doggie: Is there legal opposition to legalization of all DEA Sch.1 agents to be prescribed at the discretion of MD…?
and theoretically, reduce the costs of “Drug War” and overpopulation of prisons with non-violent drug offenders, save lots of taxpayer money on prosecution, let MD’s decide what’s medically indicated, no different than Sched. II agents, obviously, no rational MD will prescribe Heroin/Crystal Meth… free up court’s workload, enforce abuse just like Sched. II agents?
@W W D… point very well taken.
@Jill, I don’t think I was clear enough in my question… I specifically wanted to know if the Legal Community, per se, is opposed, I’m well aware which forces are lobbying for heavy ‘Drug War,’ I simply wanted to know whether the Legal community had any vested interest in pushing for deregulation, I should’ve been more clear, I apologize.

*Please note I don’t advocate the acquisition, use or possession of illicit substances.

No, thanks! I already have enough trouble trying to tease out the addicts and abusers from the pseudoaddicts. I’d rather just have the government surrender in the war on drugs. I think we need to be a little stricter in our use of antibiotics, but with narcotics, stimulants, etc., it makes more sense to allow OTC sales with caveat emptor labelling.
