Cigarettes Causing Paranoia?
Question by Lumenis: Cigarettes causing paranoia?
I never smoked until a few days ago, and in those few days I’ve been getting unusually paranoid. I had thougths ranging from people tapping my phone line, to someone following me in my car. I’ve also been really nervous, and am constantly afraid there are bugs crawling on me. (Which all sounds like something that would happen if I was on meth or pot, which I’m not). Would this be normal, or even possible for someone who’s not used to nicotine?
Eh…don’t bother telling me how bad smoking is…I’m aware of that. Most everyone who smokes is aware of that. I tried researching this myself for quite sometime, but nothing came up about nicotine being connected to paranoia.

I used to smoke (still miss it to this day) and I think maybe if you are not used to nicotine, it can play some games with you. Nicotine does effect the brain in all sorts of ways. Go a couple of days without smoking….if the paranoia subsides, well that was probably the culprit.
