Question by ssrld: Can lithium xr 450 mg. nightly mess up illegal drug testing, and how would it do that?
I know a person who has been abusing prescription drugs (opiates, amphetamines) for a long time. After getting his doctor to prescribe the lithium, he is now ready to take “any drug test” when previously he refused drug testing.

Maybe he quit doing the other drugs. If he is still taking illegal drugs along with the lithium, they will still show up in his blood. It’s also a bad idea to mix anything with lithium–that can have some bad adverse effects. Hopefully he’s not doing so.
