It is possible to make sangria with just wine, but the brandy REALLY helps it. If you can get your hands on vodka, what’s the problem with getting brandy? If you can only get wine, then my suggestion is to try to use the best wine possible… it is stronger and making up for the lack of brandy. But I’m sure a few glasses of sangria made with Yellow Tail will be just fine. Try to stick with red sangria rather than white, because cheap red wine has a tendency to be stronger (aka make someone drunker) than cheap white wine.
If you’re using cheaper wine, don’t doctor it up too much and put too much concentrated sugar/fruit juice either like some sangria recipes say… the dehydrating effects will be much more pronounced and you’ll be likely to get a hangover.
