What Do You Do When You Need Talk Therapy, but Don’t Really Feel Like It?

Question by lil sammy: What do you do when you need talk therapy, but don’t really feel like it?
Hi. I’ve been on medication for mild depression and ADHD for several years. I’ve slowly discontinued and feel great.
However, part of the bargain with my husband is I could trade my medication for talk therapy.
I’ve tried this in the past and hated it!!
I just don’t feel good about sitting with a stranger and picking apart my issues–which are not that bad. I don’t get along with my mom (not gonna change) and I don’t like the city I recently moved to (big whoop). No abuse, drugs, nothing…
How do you motivate yourself to choose a therapist and stick with it?
Thanks 🙂
Thanks so far–I want to add that I’m very functional, just that therapy makes me “squeemish”.

I have no experience with this but I think I suffer from depression so I need one too!

I think yous hould just look at all you options and find the one you feel most comfortable with.

If not then just tell them that you are nevous/don’t wanna talk about it and they may make you feel better about it so you can trust them…?
