Sadly this is very common. I also hold a dim view on rapists and murderers, but if we are true Christians we should rejoice if people such as them come to Jesus.

I think we are usually just skeptical as to whether they really have converted and found the Lord, or if they are just mocking Jesus to save their hides instead of their souls.

Christians forget that all sins are the same in the eyes of God – and that taking the Lords name is supposed to be the only unforgivable sin. We naturally look at murder as worse than stealing, or adultry, etc. but in Gods eyes they are the same. This is the hypocrisy within us- BUT the Bible also tells us that we are subject to the laws of man and we must abide. So, if a rapist or murderer knows the consequences of his actions, he must be prepared to face them. If he is exhonorated, the Lord will tend to him, after the “people” have.

Moses murdered a man, and he was the one who God chose to give us the rule book.

However, doing drugs is no excuse for sinning because doing drugs was the sin he chose to do. We cant say “Well, I committed this sin because I chose to commit that sin!” and expect to be excused from it.
