Horse Show – Forms of Cheating/abuse?
Question by Red: Horse Show – forms of cheating/abuse?
By some other questions on here, that were replied to for other classes, lets make this a more general question.
“What forms of “cheating” have you ever witnessed at a horse show? What class?”
“What forms of “absue” have you ever witnessed at a horse show? What class?”
By class i mean discipline or “riding type” as in western, english, hunter jumper, dressage, endurance, racing, cutting, reining, speed events, etc.
some forms of “cheating” that i have seen is rigging fishing wire to the bridle so that it puts pressure on the poll of the horse. putting a rubber band on the horse’s tongue before a class so that his tongue is numb. putting sometype of fluid in the horse’s eyes so that he moves slower. putting a electric device and rigging it up to the horse so that the rider can shock the horse to go faster without major movement. using a illegal bit and putting a different cheek piece to the bit so that it is not noticable to the judge. having the rider wear a mini headset that a person “coaches” the rider through the whole class. changing the coat color of a horse so that he could show in a “colored” class specified for that (mainly at open shows). switching registration papers around on horses so that a “higher” performance horse could be shown in the “lower” circuits.
