Have You Ever Recovered From an Addiction, if So How Was It Further Into the Recovery?
Question by Me W: Have you ever recovered from an addiction, if so how was it further into the recovery?
I have been addicted to pornography for some time now. In previous years I have tried repeatedly to quit and failed. I suffered two break-ups, debt, and suicidal thoughts as a result. I made up my mind that I am going to quit for the new year (2008). I was going successful until yesterday, I slipped. Instead of giving up I got back on the band wagon and I am determined to complete my sobriety. Before when I made a decision to quit and I went two weeks without viewing any images, if I slipped I immediately went into a pornographic binge (I would spend hours and hours and tons of money on it, soon after I would feel depressed). I ask the question I ask because I have not reached the time limit that I would like to reach. When I reach that limit I am not going to go back and start my whole habit but I feel to reach that goal would me to me like I made it. Anways back to my question: Have you ever recovered from an addiction, if so how did you feel further into the recovery?

I have recovered from an addiction to cocaine and after about five weeks, I had a desire to do some more but not a need. I still get offered the Peruvian Marching Powder but I always say: “I have had my share, and yours too if you don’t want to do it.”
