Do You Recognise the Signs and Symptons of These for a 10 Year Old?

Question by pmarie: Do you recognise the signs and symptons of these for a 10 year old?
* immaturity
* Asking random questions about things that seem fairly obvious
* Cannot concentrate on academic tasks for longer periods of time
* Craving attention (despite getting the ‘average’ amount
* Day dreaming in class
* Not making eye contact, especially when being told off (despite being told that it’s rude not to)
* Losing things
* Poor memory
* Not seeming that bothered about being told off despite an explanation as to what was done wrong
* Telling shop keeper how many pet he has or trying to bring it up in conversation (even if that isn’t the topic at the time)
* Pointing out objects such as a plane and saying, ‘look, a plane’ or ‘look, a lorry) – on the motorway
* The ability to cry easily and/or have tantrums easily
Lute, it’s not a matter of not letting him be a child – he is. However, when people (teachers) comment on his behaviour along with relatives, despite his up bringing being loving when it needs to be and strict when it needs to be.

I am the biggest skeptic regarding ADHD however, as a parent, as I’m sure you know, you realise when your job seems ‘different’ than the majority and can sense when something’s not quite right. However, I thank yhou for your opinion.
Simon – not at 10, no! 4 or 5 maybe.

I am not saying that there is anything WRONG with this particular 10 year old, I clearly believe that you all think I’m on the diagnosis bandwagon. There is clearly something different for me to bring this up. If I was an immature ignorant mother, I can understand however, I am merely a curious caring one who does not criticise their child for being him. Let’s not believe that hey and answer non-judgementally. Thanks
