Most urine Drug Screens work by enzyme-multiplied immunoassay technique (EMIT). Substances which are detected by immunoassay screens are alcohol, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, opioids, cannabinoids, cocaine, phencyclidine and tricyclic antidepressants.
Barbiturates are not detected on the standard EMIT screens.
