I know someone who happens to be an alcoholic and I want to know what alcohol intervention is for. I want to know if I can do this for her.

I think it would be good to do this for your friend. The main aim of an alcohol intervention is to make the alcoholic realize what alcohol does to him and help him accept treatment for his addiction. A process like this can be done by a few close friends and family members or you can get an intervention specialist to help you in facilitating the intervention. For some, this is often the first step to recovery, so I think it’s worth a try to do this.
