Alcohol-safety board gives up decertification fight
The suspended governing board of the Capital Area Alcohol Safety Action Program has given up its fight with the state commission that decertified it last year, and all but two of the members have quit — mainly in frustration.

Spreading the message that drugs can ruin a community is certainly worthwhile and pays big dividends but the true results, coming years later with decreases in crime, poverty and school dropout rates, can be hard to see in the short term.
