Welfare drug tests bill defeated
A state Senate committee defeated legislation Monday that would make Louisiana the only state to require random drug testing for welfare recipients. The Senate Committee on Finance unanimously decided to defer House Bill 617 by state Rep. John LaBruzzo, R-Metairie.
