Do in-House Drug Rehabs Separate Woman and Men?

are these drug in-house programs very strict about woman and men contact, for instance can woman be in a rehab in-house center for drug abuse and talk to a male from the same program. do they separate them at all times? are these programs really strict about these sexist rules? and why?
