I’ve been married for 3 years and all three of them my husband has been abusing drugs and alcohol, of course this affects how he treats me ( poorly) …
We have a 2 yr old child together, and for the childs sake I don’t want him to grow up around this type of behavior . I have yet to file anything legally, but I want to know what is the worst that can happen if I decide to take my child and move to another state, to be with family.
How soon once I’ve moved can I file for custody in another state.
Can I state cruel and inhumane treatment as reason for leaving so that he can’t try to take my child?
If I don’t leave what are some better options. I know staying is not one of them.
Hard to prove drug use..I have found drug related materials in his vehicle and clothes. Cops have been no help to me unless they SEE him doing it they don’t care. He also gets tested at work and passes because he uses detox drinks.
