Skin That Scratches Off Easily and Bleeds a Lot?

I read a question on this here already and the woman wrote that she was 55+ with the same problem. I am only 44 and recently when I scratch anywhere on my body, the skin comes off easily and I start to bleed. The sores that result from this seem to take forever to heel and leave ugly scars. Does anyone know what might be causing this? My medical insurance coverage discourages a doctor visit. My co-worker’s say I look like a meth addict-not pleasant!! AND not attractive either! I use gallons of moisturizers-and I mean gallons! Nothing seems to work.
