The book is from the main girl,star”s, point of view. she’s been friends with this group since like, 1st grade.ecept, eddie, star and eddie have been friends since diapers.they never thought of eachother as anything more than friends. but , eddie and star later realize they love eachother. star dosent want it to be like that, no matter how much she thinks she loves eddie. eddie wants star, but shes pushing him away, and he gets tired of it, so he moves on to a new group of friends, who arent the best people to hangout with. these “new friends” are all drug addicts/drug dealers. when eddie gets hooked on crystal meth(havent picked a drug yet?), star trys to get him back, thinking it is all her fault eddies doing this.but. now eddie is the one pushingstar away.
then star starts to go insane, realizing she cannot live without eddie, she does drastic things to herself to get him back..
the other friends(good) try to help both star and eddie before things go bad, but instars half, things already have. she decides if she cant live with eddie, she dosent want to live at all.
when eddie discovers whatstar has done, he trys to get off his addiction, but he isnt sure which is stronger. his true feelings for star, or his addction?
