Challenges

Challenges. What a word.

There’s a part of each of our lives that this word, challenges, becomes huge. It’s that thing that stops us from getting what we want.

I’ve always been a positive thinker and never thought a challenge could beat me. I know that with persistence, comes achievement.

SO WHY AM I STILL FACING THE SAME CHALLENGE THAT I FACED 20 YEARS AGO?!! ACTION! Why have I not taken the action I know is the key to success? Where is MY persistence? Am I really that scared? Am I really that anal, that whatever I do has to be perfect? Even as a beginner? What’s the deal here? I know I’m capable. I know what to do. I know where to start. I know how to do it. Mostly. I know I can learn how to do whatever it is that needs doing.

But, guess what? I still haven’t done it. Not consistently anyway. Why? I want answers. Actually, what I want is action. I just want to be the guy that does all the work without fail. I want to have a list of accomplishments so long, it’ll make your head (and mine) spin. I WANT SUCCESS!! I WANT IT NOW!! Do you hear me out there? I WANT SUCCESS NOW!! I want to write three articles per day, because I know that I can. I want to make three videos per day, because I know that I can. I want to be a social media participant, guru, and leader, because I know that I can. I want to write a press release, a blog post, and a classified ad (or ten) every single day, because I know that I can. Did I tell you that I’m capable, know what to do, where to start, and how to do it?

So, what I figure is this. My mind must be weak. It must be atrophied. It must be a fat, lazy, two pound weakling slob! It must be starving to death! It needs food, nourishment, and exercise every single day just like the body. Probably a little play as well. Not physical play, but mental play. Like laughter or stimulation from a game of chess.

Maybe I just need to be told what to do. I follow directions well. I do a good job, usually better than good. I show up all all the time, everyday. I have smile on my face. Just tell me what to do. Make me do it.

Please. Just MAKE me do it and I will.

I work best during crunch time, when the deadline is arriving. You know what I mean – taxes are sent out on April 15th, the house is cleaned just before company shows up, bills are paid on the due date. You get the idea. A procrastinator. To the T!

But no more. I’ve had enough. I want more from life.

HEAR MY BATTLE CRY!

“I will feed my mind everyday with three square meals! I will feed it first thing every morning! Last thing every night! Mid day every day! My mind will look like Arnold Schwarzenegger! It will be strong! It will be quick! It will be healthy! I will read “The Science of Getting Rich” every day! I will read it over and over until I master every chapter, every task it tells me to do! I will know by heart everything it tells me to do! I will practice every action, monitor all my thoughts, adjust my actions as necessary, and thereby master that one book!”

Once I have mastered it, I undoubtedly will be rich. I undoubtedly will become an action taker. I undoubtedly will have everything I want and need.

What’s your battle cry?

This is war my friends. You must declare war against your challenges! Let them hear you yell and fight back! Find your own book and read from it three times a day. Don’t just read it. Absorb it, let it permeate your soul and your mind. Focus on everything it says. Know it by heart. Master it. These are your armor and weapons of battle.

Read With Intention

The man who has practiced one punch, 10,000 times is far more dangerous than the man who has practiced 10,000 punches one time. The same is true for books. Pick ONE. Master it. Read it 10,000 times if that’s what it takes. Read the core statements over and over again. Emblazon every word into your memory, and meditate upon them until you firmly believe what they say. Practice daily, the tips, techniques, and steps it tells you to do. If doubt and negativity creeps in, cast them out with venomous anger and intent. Replace those thoughts with a new positive “I am doing this!” attitude. Be persistent!

Gotta go now. Time to read.
