People who really have no knowledge of addiction and how it affects a person, often believe that the addict is wicked or has not willpower.

The most popular and available means of addiction treatment is “The 12 Steps” which treats addiction as a physical and spiritual illness. They believe that the addiction can only be overcome through spiritual work and the support of the group.
