Zolpidem Tartrate 10mg (Ambien) Over Dose? Effects?

Question by StayForever: zolpidem tartrate 10mg (ambien) over dose? effects?
I’m doing a little research for something in school about different types of drugs and everything anyway I was just wondering how many of those pills someone would need to take in order to feel like they need medical help.
Person 1: girl, around 5’9 and 120lbs
Person 2: boy, around 5’9 and 125lbs
Both are 15, how many 10mg pills would one need to take?
If one should accidentally over dose, what do they need to do? Wait and see if they feel like they need medical help, or go immediately to the ER call poison control? What are the side effects? (not the severe ones but the ones you get if you do overdose) what symptoms should you watch out for?

Can ambien be a potentially harmful drug if abused?

Too much at a high dose can kill you. If you accidental overdose, seek medical attention ASAP, even though its suggested you call the poison control center.

“Overdose symptoms may include sleepiness, confusion, shallow breathing, feeling light-headed, fainting, or coma.”

“You’ll usually only be given 5-10 mg once a day, to be taken directly before you go to sleep. 10 mg is the normal maximum daily dosage.” This is for everyone.
At 70 mg, you may begin to experience serious adverse effects of taking too much Ambien, although this dose is low enough that you probably won’t suffer permanent injury. The amount needed to overdose can range from 400-600 mg. But even this dose probably won’t kill you – the reported fatal dose for Ambien is much higher, at 2000 mg.”

Overall, if you abuse it, you can die. So you’d need to take 200 10mg pills to die and 40-60 pills to overdose and live.
