Words to Use for Taking a Drug When Dr Didnt Want You to Know You Had It?

Question by J.: Words to use for taking a drug when dr didnt want you to know you had it?
I was hospitalized for treatment and it took me 3 days to recover.

I was given the drug Attivan (sp? please) to help me recover.

I know that doctors sometimes give this and other medicine to get around the patient’s fear of overdose of prescription medication.
They want me first then them later, to know how it will affect me when I don’t know I took it.

They lied a little. They told me I was probably a little dehydrated.
I took it intravenously. probably for a quicker recovery besides that.

What is the wording to describe that?

I know it is not “double-blind” because at least 1 side knew what was given me.

….I guess my first question would be, how could you possibly know that your doctor wanted to give you a drug without your knowing about it, and why would he/she do that?..This would only be the case if one had problems with addiction, and that knowledge of administering this particular medication may affect the patient in terms of psychological and/or physical addiction, and wanting more if they knew they were being given it, hence at times, intravenous measures….Obviously you have something on your mind concerning the fact you were given this medication that you say you did not know about…You were possibly given this medication to either calm you down in some way, or you were having convulsions, as this is a very calming medication known as a benzo. It is also highly addictive if one abuses it, but it is also a very common, safe and often used medication otherwise..It seems like you “may have” been in an emotional/mental negative state of mind upon entry to the hospital, and if you were, this would impair your thinking and your memory. Most people, unless unconscious, and even when impaired somehow, are informed of what is being given to them, or their parents or a close friend is, and in some cases doctors do have to make a life-saving decision, doing what they uphold and were sworn in to do, believing it is the best treatment for the patient. This is a very good thing as many people would die waiting for someone to sign forms for care and treatment..Being admitted to hospital, being cared for as you were, and released is something one should be very grateful for, both mentally, physically, as well as financially..The fact that many of us do have accessibility to a hospital at all, to say nothing of treatment and costs, and all the staff that work together to better our health is and should be very much appreciated, and yet it is a very thankless job most of the time..I certainly do not mean any disrespect to you by what I have written here, and some of it is speculation, so forgive me if I am wrong. I do hope you are feeling much better and will continue to remain on the road of recovery..Do take care…(I believe the words you are looking for is the “with-holding of pertinent or relevant information”…Also, when you signed in to the hospital, you would have signed a consent form which would cover all your treatments, including medications…
