Question by Polygamist Mommy: Will, spoiling, overfeeding, ever become child abuse? how about allowing your children to talk back?
I was at the market today and I saw this child and his mother arguing, she was actually arguing with her child! He called her a “stupid B$ *(%” I was extremely disturbed by it all. This woman took it like it was an everyday normal thing. I knew I should have minded my own business but I walked over and asked if they needed any help, She looked at me in embarrassment and said, “everything’s fine he just wants a candy bar” I looked at him and asked him how old he was and he said “6” and held up his hands showing me 6 fingers and I replied “I heard what you said to your mother, if you show your mom some respect and apologize it would be really nice.” he looked at her and looked at me and applogized to his mother. We exchanged numbers and made plans to talk on the phone tonight. She said that she just can’t tell him No. She seemed like a nice lady but I can’t help but wonder if what she is doing is kinda like child abuse.
I also see cases all the time where I work, kids coming in severely overweight, it used to be the opposite, parents and kids would come in with a skinny underweight child that doesn’t want to eat, or the parents just are not feeding them proper meals. Now it’s like every kid on I register is over 40lbs or sometimes even 100. We had a child come in the other day, she was 10 years old 4’6 and 320lbs. When we talk to the different parents that come in, they all say the same thing… “we can’t say no, they seem so hungry. I don’t want to say no to them. ”
I find it baffling.
(by the way I work for a University that teaches children about health we have kids come in for all sorts of things not just weight issues. We do research on parent child relationships and surveys, our facility is where many of those “statistics” come from LOL)

Im 14 and I cuss out my family. I use every curse word in the book when I’m really angry. I can call my mom a dumbas$ muthafuc*er and tell her to go to hel and I wont get in ANY trouble
