Question by victor s: Will I be able to use the new iPhone with the old data plan?
Can I sign up the 3G iphone for use on the EDGE network instead of the 3G? I don’t need faster downloading or browsing speeds, but i need the new iphone mostly for the GPS function. Will AT&T let me use the slower network, or am I only allowed to use 3G?

AT&T doesn’t charge you for the different plans between EDGE and 3G.

You shouldn’t be worried, because AT&T want to get all of their cell phones on the next generation network which is faster and benefits the company. The new iPhone will use the 3G network and it would be kind of pointless if you want to run it on the EDGE network.
