Why Is Marijuana Illegal?/what Are the Effects of It?

Question by joe b: why is marijuana illegal?/what are the effects of it?
i read that marijuana actually dilates the bronchial tubes and makes it easier for you to breathe (a plus for people with asthma or breathing problems) but i also dont know the negative effects…what are they? can they make it legal for medical use?
