Why Don’t I Get Withdrawl Symptoms From Quitting Smoking?
by NicFitKid
Question by potus37: Why don’t I get withdrawl symptoms from quitting smoking?
I have tried to quit smoking many times in the past. The first 3-4 days have always been a painful nightmare of cravings and strong withdrawl symptoms.
For my new years resolution this year I decided to quit smoking and I have been smoke free for 3 days now. I have yet to have any normal withdrawl symptoms this time. I get the occassional weak craving, but none of the symptoms I’ve had in the past like irritability, nervousness, extreme cravings, chest tightness, etc…
In the past when I’ve quit, day 3 and 4 have been among the worst days of my life. This time around, I am on day 3 right now, and I am perfectly happy, comfortable and content (i don’t even crave a cigarette). Why am I not experiencing withdrawls? Is this normal?
(I smoked 1-2 packs a day and I also used smokeless tobacco regularly, and I am using the same quitting methods I’ve used in the past)
Additional info: I do not work in a smoke free enviroment. I’ve been a smoker for over 10 years and I know I am/was addicted.

Your one of the lucky ones. But I don’t have an answer as to why you don’t have any symptoms this time around. Good for you though!
