I’m not surprised that MIT students don’t frequent this section, but http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/11/draco-drug-could-cure-almost-any-virus_n_924435.html points out that it “has already been tested on 15 viruses… including the common cold, polio, H1N1, and a stomach virus, have been successfully killed by the treatment.”
Now, the part about the common cold makes me wonder just how they were testing it… if it was in vitro, in vivo, or just in a petri dish. It also makes me concerned of what it would do within the human body if it killed all of these viruses as easily as the article claims. I hope I helped!
