Hi there, I haven’t been in that situation however I have watched documentaries and did some study on the issue, both of which confirmed that the main cause the children to turn to drugs is an unhappiness in their home/family life or something which may have happened to them in the past. You should try to find out if something has in fact happened to him, or what has made him so unhappy in his life that he should turn to ruin the rest of it? Also lots of love and attention will help build his self esteem within himself, and maybe with that love he could learn to love himself and the people he is hurting by doing drugs.
