Hello Austen!

Well yea, there are lots of positive effects, but the negatives are:

1. Some bad reputation on the British from their East India Company. The company has been criticised for forbidding the hoarding of rice. This prevented traders and dealers from laying in reserves that in other times would have tided the population over lean periods, as well as ordering the farmers to plant indigo instead of rice.

2. The British had to spend resources to cope with terrorism in India during their rule. It was due to the freedom struggle. * From my head. References needed though.

Hope that helps
