Question by : What is a good Senior Thesis Topic in criminal justice relating to domestic violence?
I am in the process of writing my proposal and I cannot think of a good “problem.” I am a Criminal Justice major and would like to write my thesis on domestic violence. PLEASE HELP!

Well… in the state that you live in, is there a Mandatory Arrest law on DV offenders, if so what is the impact upon the victims? Do the victim’s feel it is a good result? Are they scared? Do they typically go to a women’s shelter? Is there a specialty court in your state that deals only with DV offenders? If so what is the success rate? What is the recividism rate, if any? As a state Probation Officer I know that 99% of the time Alcohol is a MAJOR factor in DV crimes, you could pose the question of other drugs related to DV crimes, or are the offenders placed on monitored sobriety requirments if so what is the success rate of staying clean. I too am writing my thesis, and my topic is The Triad and predicting furture adult violent crimes. Good Luck and stay motivated!!!
