What Does It Mean When a Company Says?
Question by Mom2Max: What does it mean when a company says?
“We are a drug free, alcohol free, smoke free, “work safe” environment.”
Drugs – I would imagine they drug screen prospective employees
Alcohol – obviously, no drinking at work or being under the influence at work
My question really pertains to the ‘smoke free’ – do they just not allow smoking on the premisis, or what?

It usually means that they do not allow smoking at the workplace. At some children’s hospitals they do not allow smoking by employees at all, even outside of the workplace.
