Question by gorjusgirl: what does injecting cortisone do to a ganglion cyst?
i just had cortisone injected into a ganglion cyst on my left wrist – does it just help to dissipate it? it hurts like someone has shoved an ice cube underneath my skin, and it really swollen.. but slowly getting better now.. the ganglion is gone, but just not sure exactly what the cortisone did?

Cortisone is an anti-inflammatory medication. Your wrist was inflammed as a result of the ganglion cyst. The cortisone reduced the inflammation when it was injected on your wrist, which is why you feel better.
