Question by annelise il: What are the signs that show that someone is already in need of alcohol rehabilitation?
I have a neighbor who always goes home drunk. I think his kids are getting really affected by this. His wife is abroad, so it’s just him and the kids at their house. I was just wondering whether he needs alcohol rehabilitation already as I feel sorry for the kids.

It sounds like he already needs rehab. If alcohol is controlling his life in such a way that he comes home drunk even though he is superviising his children while his wife is away, then it’s got control of him and he needs help. If in doubt, report it to CPS – the children need to be protected above all. This is not to say he’s a bad father – he just needs help and the kids need to be taken care of. I’m sure he loves them – he just loves the bottle more.
