Vyvanse Overdose. Anyone With ADHD Please Help.?

Question by Fff: Vyvanse overdose. Anyone with ADHD please help.?
Okay. So about 4 months ago I would take vyvanse on a daily occasion. I would take it before school and everything would be cool. Usually around 50 – 60mgs sometimes 90mgs or 120mgs. Well I stopped taking vyvanse for like I said about 4 month, recently I took 90mgs of vyvanse and had to go to the emergency room for a heart rate of 144, and a Blood pressure of 144/115, shifting up and down. With heart palpations. I completely forgot that I didn’t any longer have a tolerance to the drug, and it was my fault. Now I am scared to take my prescription. I am scared to even take 30mgs or even 15mgs. Please help me ease my brain because I would like to be able to focus on this drug. Will this happen to me again if I take 30 or 15 mgs? Or did I just overdue it, I mean considering I used to take 60mgs daily? Or did I just get some kind of allergy to this medicine? Any answers would be appreciated, sorry for this long message. Thank you all in advance.

Im 16 years old, 5″6, and weigh about 138lbs. My heart rate is usually around 75 – 85 BPM.

low doses of vyvanse will not cause you problems like you’ve experienced. the use of other drugs or alcohol will intensify the effects of vyvanse ( increased heart rate and blood pressure ). avoid recreational drugs or alcohol and you should have no problems.

Lisdexamphetamine (L-lysine-D-amphetamine; sold as Vyvanse) is a psychostimulant.

Stimulant medications cause a modest increase in average blood pressure (about 2- 4 mm Hg) and average heart rate (about 3-6 bpm) and individuals may have larger increases. While the mean changes alone would not be expected to have short-term consequences, all patients should be monitored for larger changes in heart rate and blood pressure. Caution is indicated in treating patients whose underlying medical conditions might be compromised by increases in blood pressure or heart rate, e.g. those with pre-existing hypertension, heart failure, recent myocardial infarction, or ventricular arrhythmia.

I would recommend that you go to your doctor either to change the medicine or to monitor your response to the dose.
