The Butterfly Goddess by Geraldina Walzl has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc
Once upon a time, there was a butterfly goddess who lived in Fairy Forest with her love, the prince. The goddess has beautiful colors on her wings, and she and the prince dance together and laugh. A warlock who lives nearby does not like her laugh and determines to put an end to it, so he captures the prince and turns him into a troll.
As the prince changes, so does his personality, causing him to “yell and scream with lots of grumbles and mumbles.” This makes the goddess cry and the warlock become stronger with every falling tear.
The Butterfly Goddess will appeal to those children who find themselves dealing with a parent who is abusive or has a mental illness, depression, or an addiction to drugs or alcohol. The author hopes by reading a story similar to theirs, children may find healing and hope.
