I’m having some breast issues here. I’ll be 20 in a few weeks, and I’ve never had a child nor am I pregnant.
About two weeks ago I found this lump about the size of a pea or so, very tender to the touch. Now two weeks later it’s progressively gotten larger (about the size of a kiwi) and the pain is indescribable. A light tap of the finger is enough to drop me to the floor.
I can’t move my arm, breathe, or even shift in any way that would cause movement or for my shirt to slide over my bra which causes a huge amount of pain. This is not easy to prevent- I’m a fairly petite 5’4 and 97lbs and larger than average busted in a 28FF. Trying to keep movement from happening is a lost cause. My breast is very hot to the touch, with a raised puffy red spot just next to the nipple about an inch in diameter. There’s about two inches of redness around that raised spot. My entire breast is very swollen. I’ve felt very run-down, had a slight fever for the past week, I’ve been sick with a constant headache since this began. I’m exhausted all day and I can’t sleep for more than half an hour a night because every time I roll in my sleep I wake up screaming into a pillow from the pain. I’m fairly sure feeling sick is related to this, as I’ve been feeling worse as this thing grows.

I’ve called every supposed “free health clinic” in my area, across the city, and on the other side of the state, some of them are hours away and turns out that none of them are even remotely close to free. One or two places offered to set up a payment plan, but there was no way I’d be able to afford it or keep up with the payments. Without insurance of any kind, and about $ 100 to my name at the moment, doctors have been turning me away over the past week no matter where I go or what I say. They don’t care about the lump, they care about fattening their wallets.
Yes, I’m young, but I can’t ask my parents. My mother is supporting 5 people on her own. My father is unemployed due to his addiction to several illegal substances, I was on his health insurance until he lost his job. My mother’s job offers nothing in terms of coverage. You get the picture- the only food in the cupboard there is probably a dead mouse that starved to death.

I want to know if anyone has had a similar problem and what it turned out to be. Were there particular antibiotics you were given or anything like that? Is there a possible way to deal with this at home? I’m afraid of how big and painful this will become if doctors continue to shut their doors in my face. I’m also afraid of whatever it is progressing to a point where they can’t really fix any damage that may be done.

I got mine checked out at the hospital, ultra osund and mamogram were done but they seemed to know nothing! So I quit checking on it, the other day I went for a female check up and when doign the breast exam they signed me up to do another ultra sound and it hadnt grown but they also sent me to a breast specialist…the health dept will pay for htis if you havent got insuranece….they said it is fibro adenoma, a begnine tumor, they are going to cut it out in the next few days….you need to go as soon as possible since it has grown try to get the health dept to sen dyou somewhere to get it checked out…Im sorry to say, it sounds like cancer….and you CAN die from breast cancer!!!! The reason I am saying this is b/c other breast lumps arent supposed to grow liek that….either way it need removed.
