Transferred Colleges and Hate It; Now My Bulimia/anorexia Is Getting Worse? What Should I Do?

Question by Pinky: Transferred colleges and hate it; now my bulimia/anorexia is getting worse? What should I do?
Last year was my first year of college.I wasn’t fat at all, 5’9″ and 140 pounds, but I went on a crash diet of sugar free jello, apples, and 50-cal soups. By May, I was down to 120 pounds. I got down to 105 pounds by August because of depression from my father’s abusiveness and my brother attempting suicide.
I went into “recovery” in September with a counselor, but refused to gain any weight until around November. The only way I gained weight was by binge eating entire rolls of cookie dough and jars of peanut butter, but people told me it was “ok” because I “needed to gain weight.”
I just transferred colleges a couple of weeks ago. I LOVED the college I was at, but it’s a private school and very expensive. My parents forced me to transfer to another college in the same city because my mom works for the company and I get half tuition. But I absolutely hate it here, the people won’t talk to me and are, to put it nicely, “uneducated” to the extreme. Creepy graduate students and ghetto boys hit on me. My classes are worthless and my degree will be too. I feel so alone and have been binge eating 4,000 calories a day for the past week, often stealing my roommate’s food. I have been using laxatives (not abusing) and throwing up (but thats from my GERD), as well as exercising alot. I know i’m going to put on a ton of weight from eating out of stress and sadness. I no longer see the counselor because my insurance refuses to pay for her since I won’t take the prozac she prescribed, and they are forcing me to a psychiatrist, whom I can’t see for at least another month.
What can I do? I want to transfer, but my brother lost his scholarship since he is hooked on drugs, yet my parents are making ME fill out all the scholarship forms and work 2 part time jobs/go to school full time. I am currently 5’9″ and 129 (fat), but I know I’m going to balloon up even more

Good that you are able to see both points of view,
the why of what your parents did.
Now, can you ask them what ELSE you can do
because of what you describe, that you are going
to ruin your health. You will have to …QUICKLY,
when you’re talking say you know the other place
was too much money, but what else can you do?
For example, what we have here in Canada are
inbetween schools, colleges, community colleges
which can transfer into university, and they
are usually less pressure but can be interesting.
I can think of 2 or 3 places like that here.
It’s the idea with your parents that
a) I don’t know what to do ….because I’m (describe)
b) I understand the other places was too much
c) I can’t stay at this place, so what else can I do

(Also, you look to see what is possible).
