The Rehab Project – Afya Brings Rehab and Supplies for Life to Haiti – The Afya Foundation of America, with the generous support of the JDC, has continued it’s vital work in Haiti following the devastating earthquake on January 12th, 2010. Afya’s Supplies for Life program has sent close to 700000 pounds of medical, relief and ancillary goods to the beleaguered areas in support of several health initiatives. Afya’s Executive Director Danielle Butin, with the incredible support of the JDC, helped compile a team of Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Adaptive building Trainers, Documentarians and Administrators who traveled to Port au Prince shortly after the earthquake. The teams have created rehab clinics, trained rehab techs and adaptive builders, and supplied the programs with much need rehab equipment to bring rehabilitation to thousands of earthquake victims.
