The text: SEE WHAT YOU MADE ME DO Sandra and Kelly lived next door and we three became friends. I was seduced by their extremes. He drank life in. She snorted it. His slurred speech mixed with her hyperactivity made the inevitable arguments seem laughable –until he got the last word by sending her to the hospital. She told me through cracked teeth no charges would be filed so long as he got the rehab he needed. Kelly hop scotched over the twelve steps. He knew the motions. He knew what they wanted to hear. He knew how to con his Higher Power and when he was released Sandra was all he’d talk about at the bar. Meanwhile, she was doing methamphetamines, vacuuming at 4am, telling support groups she’d broken the cycle –only to wind up staring at his picture for hours on end. When her bruises healed Sandra quit the meetings and insisted I keep her company; shed smile and say I was a nice guy –but
