Question About Stomach Gurgling in Dogs?

I’m looking up bloat in dogs and I’m confused. In one article it says symptoms “Lack of normal gurgling and digestive sounds in the tummy.” but in other articles it says gurgling in the tummy IS a symptom of Bloat.

So which is it?

One describes what happens once the tummy has blown, the other what’s going on before it blows! Gurgling is a symptom of gas and often a gassy tummy will bloat. Not always, but……. Once the stomach has blown, and twisted, everything has shut down obviously, so there is no digestive process going on any more. In simple terms.

Serious! Urgent! Life threatening if treatment isn’t sought immediately – every minute counts, literally.

ps I should mention there are two stages of Gastric Torsion – ‘simple’ bloating, before the stomach has flipped, which, with any luck, can be sorted out by intubation to release the gas, and stomach contents. The next is a full Gastric Torsion, when the stomach twists on the axis, shutting off both ends, in, and out. It’s not possible to intubate then, and so obviously, surgery is the only option. At this point all the other organs, spleen particularly, are at risk because of the increased size of the stomach etc.
