Question by Jade S: Does anyone konw what types of “treatment” that mental patients went through during the 1800’s?
I’m writing a story, and I need the facts as acurate as possible, I know that they were treated horribly, with electro shock and cold water treatment, but I want names of “Treatments” and the differnt devices used… I konw one called “The holding chiar” And ofcourse electro shock….. can anyone help me out here?

often patients were labotamized, part of they’re frontal lobe was reimoved, the were basically turned into infants again
